The TravelChatCA team has been on hiatus for the summer, but it didn’t take long for all of us to shake off the rust. Off the heels of a scorching and eventful summer, the team was excited to get back to doing what our goal for this chat was always about – having fun talking about travel and giving away prizes to Canadians because we can!
We picked up right where we left off with a tonne of inspiring and fascinating discussions about all the fun vacations had this summer and also how we could be using points to maximise those travel opportunities.
For this month, we had a very special guest host in Parm of Planet Blue Adventure. Despite being on the heels of landing in Toronto from a trip to the UK, she did a fantastic job moderating the chat. A big thank you goes out to her for being part of our September chat.
Also on hand was Jason from Points University Canada. Their upcoming event in Toronto is their 2nd annual conference to gather travel and points enthusiasts to learn how to use miles and points to maximise flights, hotel stays and trips. Presentations will be made of exclusively Canadian travel hacking/miles & points experts to educate Canadians on the ins-and-outs of the main loyalty programs as well as tips to save money while travelling in comfort. The event is on October 22nd, 2016 at the Toronto Region Board of Trade Ballroom. For more information and tickets, please check out www.pointsu.ca.
Big Buzz Words of the Twitter Party
What generated the most buzz for the chat was definitely about frequent traveller points. I think we can all agree that the various programs out there don’t make it easy to accrue and spend these points and so @pointsu_ca was on hand to provide valuable tips.
